LAB

The Bloomer House Science, Skills & Society Lab is a Social Enterprise designed as a dynamic learning environment where researchers, corporates, and organisations come together to develop future-oriented competences, explore Responsible Research & Innovation (RRI), and engage in lifelong learning pathways. Moving beyond the traditional consultancy model, the Lab functions as a socially driven competence hub, offering innovative training programmes both online and offline.

Its mission is to empower individuals and organisations to adapt to rapidly changing social, technological, and economic landscapes by building competences that are aligned with the European Skills Agenda, the Pact for Skills, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Lab creates a unique bridge between science and society, equipping participants with the tools and confidence to pursue careers beyond academia, contribute to responsible innovation ecosystems, and foster inclusive, decent work futures.

The Lab is structured around four main streams:

  • Future Skills & Competence Lab: equipping professionals with digital, green, leadership, and adaptive competences through blended learning formats.

  • RRI & Society Lab: embedding ethics, sustainability, gender equality, and inclusiveness in organisational and research practices, while promoting public engagement.

  • Leadership & Coaching Lab: providing mentoring, resilience, and leadership training to strengthen personal and professional growth.

  • Connection & Community Hub: building collaborative networks, mentoring circles, and peer-learning opportunities that connect researchers, corporates, and social enterprises.

Through this integrated approach, the Lab contributes directly to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It positions itself as a platform for new beginnings, where courage, competences, and connections converge to create transformative opportunities for individuals and organisations alike.
